Chocolate Almond Butter Shake

Creamy avocado, rich almond butter and decadent cocoa powder come together to create this low-carb vegan milkshake that’s packed with healthy fats and fiber. This easy plant-based beverage is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth while you stick to your low carb diet. We even sneak in a veggie serving with a handful of fresh spinach!

chocolate almond butter shakeWe use almond milk in this recipe to keep things dairy free. However, you can easily swap in some whole milk for an added boost of protein! You can also substitute the cocoa powder for a chocolate protein powder for even more of the muscle-building nutrient.

This healthy chocolate shake is super easy to make and only requires seven simple ingredients! Pour one cup of unsweetened almond milk into a blender and add two tablespoons of almond butter, two tablespoons of cocoa powder, one cup of baby spinach, half of a cup of ice cubes and one tablespoon of a granulated erythritol-based sweetener. Blend the ingredients on high until your shake is completely smooth. This should only take about one minute. Serve your smoothie immediately in your favorite glass or shaker bottle.
