What is the sodium content in the South Beach Diet?

All phases of the South Beach Diet now deliver < or = 2,300 mg sodium per day, which meet the USDA’s guidelines and recommended daily intake of 2300 mg sodium or less for the general population (Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2015-2020). All South Beach Diet Phases are at levels much lower than the average American typically consumes in a day. The actual sodium level may vary based on which South Beach Diet foods you choose and which grocery food items you add to your diet plan. If you have specific dietary needs for sodium, please contact a South Beach Diet counselor who can help you set up a specialized weight loss plan according to your needs.
